Description:

Ofloxacin is a synthetic antibiotic of the fluoroquinolone drug class considered to be a second-generation fluoroquinolone. Dexamethasone Sodium Phosphate, a synthetic adrenocortical steroid, is a white or slightly yellow crystalline powder. It is freely soluble in water and is exceedingly hygroscopic.

Indications and Usage:

Ofloxacin and Dexamethasone Sodium Phosphate Eye and Ear Drops is used to treat certain eye conditions due to inflammation or injury. Dexamethasone works by relieving symptoms such as swelling, redness, and itching. It belongs to a class of drugs known as corticosteroids. This medication may also be used to treat swelling, redness, and itching of the outer ear due to inflammatory conditions.

Side Effects

This medication may temporarily sting or burn your eyes for a minute or two when applied. Temporary blurred vision, eye  discomfort, itching , redness, dryness, tearing, feeling as if something is in your eye , or sensitivity to light may occur. If any of these effects last or get worse, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

Remember that your doctor has prescribed this medication because the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects.

Use of this medication for prolonged or repeated periods may result in a new fungal eye infection. Do not use it for longer than prescribed. Contact your doctor if you notice new or worsening symptoms.

Tell your doctor right away if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: eye pain, swelling of your eyelids or face.
