Enrofloxacin works by deactivating the bacterial enzymes needed for DNA transcription and is effective against both gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria.

It is important to note that Welflox enrofloxacin liquid injection is for veterinary purposes only, and altho’ there are similar medications available for human consumption, you should only use medications prescribed by a veterinary doctor or animal care specialist for an animal.

Side Effects:

As with all veterinary medicine, some unwanted effects can occur from the use of enrofloxacin. Always consult a veterinary physician or animal care specialist for medical advice before use.

Joint damage can occur in immature dogs undergoing treatment with enrofloxacin. For this reason, the medication should not be used in puppies less than 8 months of age unless absolutely necessary. Additionally, enrofloxacin use can cause crystals to develop in urine. These crystals may show on laboratory testing.

Refer to an animal care specialist for guidelines on dosage. Do not exceed what they advise, and complete the full treatment, as stopping early can result in a recurrence or a worsening of the problem. Usual dosage is as follows:

Cattle, Sheep, Pig:
Each time dosage: 0.05ml per kg of body weight, once or twice a day, continuously for 2-3 days.

Dogs, Cats, and Rabbits:
0.05ml-0.1ml per kg of body weight, once or twice a day, continuously for 2-3 days.

Consult with an animal care specialist about any other medications that are being taken by the animal, and their medical history, before their treatment with enrofloxacin injection.
