Aceclofenac 100 mg +Thiocolchicoside 4 mg Tablet (INTOFEN-TH)

Aceclofenac is a potent nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with the marked anti-inflammatory (reduce inflammation) and analgesic (painkilling) property. It is an analogue of Diclofenac and widely preferred for the treatment of pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis

Thiocolchicoside is a muscle relaxant with analgesic and anti-inflammatory property. It is a semi-synthetic derivative of colchicine.

The combination of Aceclofenac + Thiocolchicoside is widely used for the treatment of pain and muscle spasm occurring due to sprains, strains and muscle injuries.

 Action:
Aceclofenac: Aceclofenac mainly works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes both COX-1 and COX-2 which promote the secretion of prostaglandins. It forbids the production of prostaglandins are the chemical substance released by the body and a promoter of inflammation, pain (mild to moderate) and fever.

Thiocolchicoside is a competitive GABA-A receptor antagonist (blocker) as well as a glycine receptor antagonist. It works mainly by blocking GABA-A and glycine receptors in the central nervous system, thus relieving muscle stiffness (spasm) and pain.

Side effects related to Aceclofenac and Thiocolchicoside Tablet:
Some common side effects are nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, diarrhoea, drowsiness, stomach pain and allergy.

When should one not use Aceclofenac,Thiocolchicoside
If you are allergic to aceclofenac, thiocolchicoside or similar medicines
If you have problems with your heart, liver or kidney
If you have or had stomach bleeding problems due to painkillers
If you are suffering from any bleeding disorders or are losing blood
If you are a pregnant woman or a breastfeeding mother
If you are a woman of childbearing age and are not using contraception.
If you have a history of serious allergies like asthma, skin rashes, swelling, etc. in response to painkillers
