INTRODUCTION

LULICONAZOLE CREAM 1 W/W (LU-CON) contains Luliconazole which belongs to the group of medicines called azole antifungal agents.  Tinea pedis (athlete’s foot) is a dermatophyte infection of soles of feet and interdigital spaces.

Luliconazole exerts its antifungal activity by disrupting the permeability of normal fungal cell membrane.

USES 

Treats interdigital tinea pedis, tinea cruris and tinea corporis in adults

HOW LULICONAZOLE CREAM 1 W/W (LU-CON) WORKS

Luliconazole inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol by inhibiting the enzyme called lanosterol demethylase in the susceptible fungi. Inhibition of lanosterol demethylase by luliconazole results in decreased concentration of ergosterol, a constituent of fungal cell membranes, and a corresponding accumulation of lanosterol.
